Riding Insured in the Sunshine State
Florida is a year-round riding state with some of the nation's heaviest motorcycle traffic — and some of its most particular insurance rules. Riders 21 and over may legally ride without a helmet only if they carry at least $10,000 in medical benefits coverage, and Florida's auto PIP system treats motorcycles differently than cars, which makes medical payments coverage worth a careful look.
The coverage that earns its keep here is uninsured/underinsured motorist: in a state with one of the highest uninsured-driver rates in the country, the driver who turns left in front of you frequently can't pay for what happens next. UM coverage is how riders protect themselves anyway.
Beyond that, we tailor to how you ride: agreed value for custom builds and accessories, roadside and trip interruption for touring, seasonal-use pricing for snowbird riders, and multi-bike discounts. Motorcycle rates swing dramatically between carriers in Florida — shopping the market matters even more on two wheels than four.

Motorcycle Insurance FAQs
Florida doesn't require PIP for motorcycles the way it does for cars — but riders 21 and over who choose to ride without a helmet must carry at least $10,000 in medical benefits coverage. More practically: financial responsibility rules after an accident, lender requirements, and Florida's high rate of uninsured drivers make liability and uninsured motorist coverage the real answer.
Because in a crash, a rider absorbs what a car's frame would. Florida has one of the highest uninsured-driver rates in the country, and the driver who violates your right of way often can't pay for the damage they cause. Uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage is how riders protect themselves regardless of who's driving badly around them.
Standard policies cover a limited amount of accessory value — often a few thousand dollars. If you've invested in custom paint, exhaust, bags, or electronics, tell us: we can add accessory coverage or write the bike at an agreed value that reflects what it's actually worth.
